What will I learn?
This master鈥檚 course is about helping you think critically. You will learn from leading experts about how we think, how our brains work, neurodiversity, and research happening all over the world.聽
After completing the course, you could go on to a PhD, work in education, advance in a career supporting special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), or help shape policies and child development projects globally.
Depending on your interests or career aspirations, you can choose to gain either an MA or an MSc. For the MA you will undertake a dissertation that explores and critically evaluates existing research in developmental science and neurodiversity, allowing you to develop a deeper understanding of the field. To gain an MSc award, you will undertake a dissertation project in which you will get the chance to create, carry out and analyse your own unique research within the CBCD or our School of Psychological Sciences.

How will I learn?
This developmental science and neurodiversity course is available to study full- or part-time, with classes held during the daytime and evening. You will learn through engaging lectures and interactive seminars led by researchers from all over the globe.

You must complete modules worth a total of 180 credits comprising:
- eight compulsory modules (15 credits each)
- a 10,000-word dissertation - a piece of empirical research or advanced quantitative analysis under the supervision of experienced staff (60 credits).

What are the methods of teaching?
A combination of lectures, tutorials and project supervision.

How will I be assessed?
Five 2,500-word coursework essays, presentations and one unseen examination. Advanced Quantitative Methods is assessed by statistics worksheets.

Entry requirements
A second-class honours degree (2:2) or above in psychology, cognitive science, education, behavioural sciences or relevant discipline.
Relevant professional experience of childhood and development may also be considered.
We welcome applicants without traditional entry qualifications as we base decisions on our own assessment of qualifications, knowledge and previous work experience. We may waive formal entry requirements based on judgement of academic potential.

What are the English language requirements?
If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

What are the visa and funding requirements?
If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.
The visa you apply for varies according to the length of your course:
- Courses of more than six months' duration: Student visa
- Courses of less than six months' duration: Standard Visitor visa
International students who require a Student visa should apply鈥痶o study on our courses full-time as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship. If you are living in the UK on a Student visa, you will not be eligible to enrol to study part-time courses at 糖心logo入口 (with the exception of some modules).
As a Student visa student, you should also apply to study on campus only, as online and flexible options of study鈥� (if they are available for your course) may affect the conditions of your visa.
