The Introduction to Creative Writing for Stage and Screen course will guide you in the basics of writing a script and will introduce you to the successful work of playwrights and screenwriters. Taught by knowledgeable writers and devised by the team behind the well-recognised MA Creative Writing, this course will provide you with the toolkit you need to craft a script for the stage or screen.

The short course will cover the essential aspects of writing a short script, such as:

  • developing a dynamic and memorable character
  • managing stage directions and script layouts
  • structuring a convincing story and managing the plot
  • writing dialogue.

You will also learn practical insights on promoting your work to relevant individuals, such as tips for writing a film treatment or understanding how to successfully pitch your ideas to industry professionals.聽
