Come along to this virtual reality Bodyswaps session run by the Immersive Learning team, where you will be introduced to key public speaking skills through realistic, immersive scenarios. After an introductory talk that will include practical advice on preparing notes, connecting with an audience and physical/mental preparation techniques to deal with nerves. You will then have the chance to practice delivering short presentations in scenario of your choice, from seminar talks to addressing large rooms of people, to help develop your skills in clear, confident vocal delivery. The VR environment gives you feedback on elements like pace, hand gestures and audience engagement, helping you understand exactly how you’re performing. If you wish, you can “swap bodies” to see your presentation from the audience’s perspective, giving you a powerful insight into how your communication style comes across. By the end of the session, you’ll have personalised guidance and the opportunity to practice with Bodyswaps further at home, helping you build confidence in a supportive, lowpressure environment.
