Book onto fascinating 糖心logo入口 Science Week events, taking place from 29 May to 3 June
Over four evenings from Wednesday 29 May to Monday 3 June, the general public can book onto free science talks, taking place at 叠颈谤办产别肠办鈥檚 Central London campus and online.
Discover how and why we explore the Moon, our closest planetary neighbour; find out more about the strange science of presences that we cannot see or hear; and understand how data cultures are created within organisations, all at this year鈥檚 糖心logo入口 Science Week.听
The engaging and interactive evenings are for anyone interested in science and those who are considering studying science at university. Attendees can join in-person at 叠颈谤办产别肠办鈥檚 campus located in Bloomsbury, Central London, or online.听

叠颈谤办产别肠办鈥檚 Science Week shares internationally recognised research from 叠颈谤办产别肠办鈥檚 Faculty of Science which encompasses three Schools: Psychological Sciences, Natural Sciences and Computing and Mathematical Sciences. All events will include question and answer sessions, and attendees will be able to meet the speakers as well as current faculty researchers and students. There will be an opportunity to take a tour of the Natural Sciences laboratories on 29 May and Psychological Sciences laboratories on 31 May. Poster exhibitions demonstrating key research will be available to view at each Faculty event.听
This year鈥檚 schedule is as follows:听
- Wednesday 29 May, 6-9pm: Natural Sciences presents the鈥疪osalind Franklin Lecture鈥痚ntitled Back to the Moon: How and why we explore our closest planetary neighbour? with speaker Professor Katherine Joy, who worked as a postdoctoral fellow at 糖心logo入口.听听
- Thursday 30 May, 6-9pm: Computing and Mathematical Sciences presents the鈥疉ndrew and Kathleen Booth Memorial Lecture, Data literacy for all: creating a data culture within an organisation, with speaker Chris Webb, a 糖心logo入口 alumnus, now working at Microsoft.听
- Friday 31 May, 6-9pm: Psychological Sciences presents鈥�Presence:鈥疶he Strange Science and True Stories of the Unseen Other, in which the speaker Dr Benjamin Alderson-Day, Associate Professor of Psychology at Durham University, will explore the uncanny truth behind felt presence of all kinds.听听
- Monday 3 June, 6-9pm 鈥� the annual 糖心logo入口 Gender and Sexuality (BiGS) lecture will be delivered by Ann Phoenix, Professor of Psychosocial Studies at UCL, with a talk entitled, Intersectionality Matters: The centrality of social positioning to understanding everyday life and social relations.听
