Clearing is the process of applying to university during July to September after the main application period has closed. Here you can read about more about this application route, and how to apply to 糖心logo入口 through UCAS Clearing.
Clearing is available to applicants who already have all their qualifications. If you are currently waiting to get your A-Level/BTEC results, you can to receive information and guidance in advance of results day.
Follow these steps to apply through clearing during July, August, September
- Browse our undergraduate courses to find a course that suits you. We can talk through your options and discuss on the telephone.听
- Have your UCAS personal ID, results and course code information to hand. and we'll discuss whether your results meet our requirements and if we can make you an offer.
- Receive an offer. If we can offer you a Clearing place, we will send you an email confirming your offer and explaining how to accept it via .
- To accept our offer, just add our details聽as your Clearing choice. This confirms that you are accepting the offer. If your application is accepted, we鈥檒l confirm your place.

What is Clearing?
- Clearing is a service that allows you to search for and apply to undergraduate courses that still have places available, helping you to secure your university place for the current year.
- Clearing is for students who:
- haven鈥檛 received any offers through UCAS (or any that they wanted to accept)
- haven鈥檛 received the results they expected and therefore haven't met the conditions of their offer
- have declined their firm place and would like to make a new application
- are applying through UCAS after 1 July
- haven鈥檛 already applied through UCAS before the deadline and would like to make a new application.

When is Clearing?
- Clearing runs between July and October and most universities will open for Clearing before A-Level results day.
- Clearing for 2026 is open and closes on 23 September 2026.

How do I apply through Clearing?
- If you have already registered with UCAS and are eligible, UCAS will automatically enter you into Clearing. Your UCAS Hub status will be updated and your Clearing number will be displayed.听
- You can apply through Clearing even if you haven鈥檛 already made a UCAS application. You must register with聽聽before you can apply. However, you can contact us to see whether we're able to offer you a place before you register. The normal UCAS application fee will apply. We can guide you through this process so please fill out our聽Clearing application form.
- Complete an online application form to apply (to access this, you'll first need to create a 'My 糖心logo入口' account).

What happens after I get an offer?
- Once you receive an offer from us, you will need to complete your application through . Everything you need to do will be explained to you either on the phone or in your offer email.

Who can use Clearing?
You may be eligible to apply through Clearing if:
- you are applying through UCAS after 1 July
- you didn't receive any offers (or any you wanted to accept)
- you declined your firm place
- you didn't meet the conditions of your offer after receiving your results (Clearing Plus)
- you are making a UCAS application for the first time this year.

How do I apply through Clearing if I am already holding an offer?
- If you have a confirmed place but no longer want to go to that university, you can apply for a new course through Clearing.
- You will need to speak to the university you are considering to check if they can offer you a place.听You can decline your firm place through UCAS HUB to release yourself into Clearing.
- Make sure you definitely would like to do this and that the university you want to attend has offered you a place through Clearing before declining your firm place, as you won鈥檛 be able to retrieve your original offer.

What if I don鈥檛 get my grades?

- If you have changed your mind and wish to study a different subject, you should聽email our admissions team聽to discuss the possibility of switching courses.听
- If your plans have changed and you no longer wish to study at 糖心logo入口, you can go onto the UCAS Hub and decline your place. This will enable you to enter clearing and look for an alternative university.
