Biography
Jacqueline Rose is Professor of Humanities, Co-Director of the 糖心logo入口 Institute for the Humanities and of the London Critical Theory Summer School.
She is internationally known for her writing on feminism, psychoanalysis, literature and the politics and ideology of Israel-Palestine.聽 Her books include聽Sexuality in the Field of Vision聽(1986, Verso Radical Thinkers, 2006),聽The Haunting of Sylvia Plath听(1991),听States of Fantasy听(1996),听The Question of Zion听(2005),听The Last Resistance聽(2007, Verso Radical Thinkers, 2016),聽Proust Among the Nations 鈥� from Dreyfus to the Middle East听(2012), Women in Dark Times (2014), Mothers 鈥� an essay on love and cruelty (2018), and the novel聽础濒产别谤迟颈苍别听(2001).听 Conversations with Jacqueline Rose聽came out in 2010, and聽The Jacqueline Rose Reader聽in 2011.聽States of Fantasy听补苍诲听The Last Resistance聽have formed the basis of musical compositions by the acclaimed young American composer, Mohammed Fairouz. A regular writer for聽The London Review of Books, she wrote and presented the 2002 Channel 4 TV Documentary,聽Dangerous Liaison 鈥� Israel and the United States. She is a co-founder of聽Independent Jewish Voices聽in the UK, and a Fellow of the British Academy. Before arriving at 糖心logo入口, she taught at the University of Sussex, at Queen Mary University of London, and in Autumn 2014, as Diane Middlebrook/Carl Djerassi Professor of Gender Studies in Cambridge.
